Be uplifted in movement and sound this Spring!
Certified Qigong instructor, Sandra Mighell, will softly guide us in a deeply grounding and nourishing Qigong practice, transitioning gently into a relaxing sound journey with Vortasia and Paul. Together we will celebrate the arrival of Spring, which is the time of the wood element in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The wood element is associated with the liver organ system. Celebrate the balance of rooting into the earth and rising toward the sun, to be simultaneously grounded and uplifted. Circle of intention before, and time to integrate and optionally share at the end.
Qigong is a 5,000-year-old practice, which implements gentle movement, breath, and focus of the mind. "Qi" or "Chi" means energy or life force. Gong means cultivation/practice, with purpose and intent. It is often described as a moving meditation and is used for physical health, emotional balance, and spiritual growth.
Sound healing is informed by the principle that everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration, including the human body. Research in vibrational medicine shows that every cell, organ, and tissue has its own natural frequency. When these frequencies become out of harmony—due to stress, illness, or emotional trauma—sound can be used as a tool to restore balance and stimulate the body’s innate healing abilities.
The sound journey will include various instruments including gongs, alchemy singing bowls, crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, drums, rattle, chimes and voice, to create vibrations that help to realign and harmonize the body’s frequencies. These vibrations penetrate the body on a cellular level, promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and calming the nervous system.
